Webinar Description

The Allocations, Reallocations, and non-Traditional Allocations of Title I, Part D Subpart 2 Funds webinar, held on April 25, 2024, from 1-2 pm EST, explored some of the discretionary methods SEAs use when making allocation determinations for Subpart 2 and included a panel of State coordinators experienced in this area. 

In this webinar, we discussed: 

• An overview of the statute and nonregulatory guidance demonstrating the discretionary authority given to the SEA
• A panel discussion looking at how different states have structured their allocation process
• The process for re-allocating funding in the event a subgrantee declines funding or a facility closes during the grant cycle

Facilitator

Daniel Froemel, Ed.D., Senior Technical Assistance Advisor with Longevity Consulting, has spent the majority of his career serving and leading in the N&D community. Prior to joining the NDTAC team, Daniel served as the Senior Director of Non-Traditional and Nonpublic Programs with the Tennessee Department of Education. He has also worked at the local level, spending almost a decade as a Principal and then Executive Director of a psychiatric residential treatment facility for children and adolescents. Additionally, he has served in various administrative levels at the building- and district-level for special education in public school districts in TN and SC.
