Webinar Description
The A Closer Look at Eligibility Requirements under Title I, Part D of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) webinar, held on August 8, 2024, from 1-2 pm EST, was designed to assist State coordinators in navigating the complexities of determining eligibility for Title I, Part D funds and which students may be served. This crucial step can be challenging given the diverse nature of delinquent and neglected facilities. This interactive session was aimed at providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the eligibility criteria and practical tips and tools to support your work.
Our agenda for the webinar included:
- Introduction to eligibility: a “101 back-to-basics” introduction to address the nuanced details for determining eligibility to receive a Title l, Part D subgrant and key considerations.
- An interactive quiz to reinforce learning about Title I, Part D eligibility.
- An analysis of an anonymous case study: make an eligibility assessment and engage in a group discussion to share decisions and ask questions.
Presenter
Obioma Okogbue,Technical Assistance Specialist with Child Trends, works with NDTAC as a TA provider; where she leads the NDTAC helpdesk and supports development of TA activities and products. She has experience providing training and TA, coordinating and managing multiple TA projects, and developing TA products for state health and education agencies.
Title I, Part D Program Officers; Kateri Spear from the Title I, Part A Program Office; and Josie Skinner from the Office of General Counsel joined us to help address participant questions.
Primary audience: N&D State coordinators, State agencies, facility administrators, and LEA representatives who are involved in the annual count process.
