Webinar Description

Youth involved in the juvenile justice system face some of their greatest challenges during transitions—whether returning to a public school, entering the workforce, or pursuing postsecondary education and training opportunities. These transitions are often complicated by barriers such as delayed records, enrollment disruptions, limited coordination between agencies, and a lack of social-emotional supports. On August 26, 2026 at 1:00 PM EST, NDTAC held a webinar focused on how educators and program leaders can leverage Title I, Part D funding and programming to support successful transitions and improve outcomes for justice-involved youth. Participants explored common transition barriers, reviewed Title I, Part D requirements and guidance, and learned practical strategies for using Title I, Part D funds to provide effective transition services.

The webinar also featured presentations from three programs that are successfully using Title I, Part D funds to support youth during critical transition periods. Attendees learned how transition specialists help students navigate complex systems, how career and technical education and work-based learning opportunities create pathways to employment, and how targeted supports can prepare youth for success in postsecondary education. Whether you are new to Title I, Part D or looking to strengthen your transition services, this session provided valuable insights, practical examples, and actionable strategies.
