SSD Webinar Series: Conditions for Learning

OJJDP and ED, in collaboration with the Center for Coordinated Assistance to States, the Council of State Governments, the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments, and the Supportive School Discipline Communities of Practice, presented "Conditions for Learning, " the first Webinar in the new Supportive School Discipline Initiative series. 

This Webinar examined the School Discipline Consensus Report and highlight strategies to improve school climate and reduce suspensions and expulsions. Presenters addressed school climate data collection, improving codes of conduct, alternatives to exclusionary discipline, and professional development. 

The Webinar was moderated by Emily Morgan (The Council of State Governments) and feature key experts in the field, including: David Osher (NCSSLE, American Institutes for Research, Washington, DC); Karen Webber-Ndour (Baltimore City Public Schools); and Ken Roebuck, Tonya Hebert, and John Crutchfield (Carencro High School, Lafayette, LA).
