We will highlight two juvenile justice schools in Wyoming that are offering “Start from Scratch”, a nationwide initiative of the Center for Educational Excellence in Alternative Settings (CEEAS) designed to expose students to computer science and empower them to create personal, animated stories around the theme of restorative justice. CEEAS staff will discuss how they got started, what they are doing in the classrooms, and what obstacles they have overcome to expose their students to cutting edge technology in the juvenile justice setting. Part D Coordinator Kenya Haynes, will discuss how she supports this school from the state education agency level. NDTAC will also share some examples of other juvenile justice programs that utilize technology. We encourage you to extend this invitation to any state agency, local education agency or facility staff who you think would benefit from this information.
