TIPD-related Conference and Professional Development Opportunities of Interest - FY 2025
The following is a list of potential TIPD-related opportunities that State coordinators or subgrantees may be interested in as the topics have some connection to educating students in neglected and delinquent programs.
This list is meant to serve as a reference for stakeholders interested in exploring opportunities. NDTAC does not endorse any one opportunity in particular. This is not meant to be an all-encompassing list of opportunities.
If you know of other opportunities that you would like to share with your colleagues, let us know and we will add them to the list, or, if you are hosting a state conference that is open to outside guests and would like it shared with the larger group, let us know and we will add it to the list.
Email Dan or Obioma to have your events added at Daniel.froemel@longevityconsulting.com and OOkogbue@childtrends.org.

Professional Development
- The Youth in Custody Certificate Program is designed to help leaders implement or accelerate systemic change to improve outcomes for youth in custodial settings. It's an interactive and dynamic learning environment with instruction from national experts on cutting edge ideas, policies, and practices from across the country. Specifically, the program focuses on the serious, high-risk youth population and integrates best practices around culture change and leadership, evidence-based tools to assess youth’s risks and develop individualized case plans, supporting positive relationships between and among staff and youth, shaping facility’s physical environment, delivering effective programming and treatment, as well as strength-based approaches and re-entry support.

- OJJDP Events: Coordinators can sign-up for their mailing list. OJJDP hosts events through virtual/live webinars of juvenile justice-related topics, content, and practice strategies.
- The National Symposium on Juvenile Services is a unique forum that brings together field expertise across the continuum of care. Administrators, frontline professionals, clinicians, probation officers, advocates, educators, trainers, community supports, all coming to one location in the spirit of collaboration and professional development. The Symposium offers an irreplaceable opportunity to network and share innovative program services as well as real-life solutions to common barriers experienced across the nation (and sometimes beyond).

- Trauma-Informed Care and Fostering Resilience Video Collection REL West assembled a free video collection “Addressing Trauma and Fostering Resilience,” where experts on trauma and youth provide actionable strategies on building positive relationships and resilience with youth, responding to youth suicide, understanding youth behaviors, and employing trauma-informed practices. Educators and other adults who work with youth are aware of the increasing occurrence of trauma and its impact, and they need accessible, easy-to-find resources to help understand how to recognize trauma and how to respond with trauma-informed care.
