Program Highlights: Conversations With Long-Term State TIPD Coordinators: Collaboration
In this four-part series, several former, long-time Title I, Part D (TIPD) coordinators were asked to share the insights they gained and the strategies they developed while overseeing their State’s funding for the education of children and youth who were neglected, delinquent, and at risk. Specifically, TIPD coordinators reflect on the importance of collaboration, staff development, data collection, and monitoring. The resulting insights and strategies contained in the series are applicable to new and experienced TIPD coordinators alike. All three TIPD coordinators who contributed to the coordinator series stress how vital collaboration was to their work overseeing TIPD activities within their respective States. As one TIPD coordinator shared, the limited funding available and the magnitude of the work needed to meet student needs necessitated that child serving systems work together.
